São Paulo Fashion Week is the biggest fashion event in Brazil. It began in 1996, and was at first called Morumbi Fashion Week. Now it takes place at Ibirapuera Park, in São Paulo.
Lots of top models (like Gisele Bündchen, Isabeli Fontana, Aline Weber, Alessandra Ambrosio) and famous brands (such as Colcci, Osklen, Animale, Tufi Duek and others) were discovered there.
The
event was organized in four fashion shows by day, today are six days with five
shows. It happens twice a
year, one in January - showing the fall collection - , and the other in June –
with the spring collection.
The event’s goal is not only to
bring out the creator’s work and fashion, but also moving the fashion market
and to make the Brazilian fashion universal.
The entries are separated, one
specific to the accredited people, and other to the general public. To go to
SPFW, you need some invitation of any lounge or brand. The lounges are places
organized by the brands to receive guests. There are little parties, some
events and games.
The main trends of this edition
were crop tops, white, metallic, transparency, stamped pants, peplum and the
most talked : worked collars.
