KINECT.
Kinect is a
motion sensing input device designed by Microsoft for the Xbox 360, one of the
most advanced video game consoles. It enables users to control and interact
with the Xbox 360 without the need of a game controller, using a natural user
interface by capturing gestures and spoken commands.
The technology
The sensor
Kinect has about 23 cm
long horizontal. It has a RGB (red, blue and green) camera that allows a better
facial recognition from the player. A depth sensor which provides full-body 3D
motion capture and a multi-array microphone for voice recognition. The
software can detect 48 skeletal points on a human body.
